About rivers without borders
Rivers Without Borders (then Transboundary Watershed Alliance) originally formed as an alliance of 22 member groups, coordinating efforts on environmental and First Nations rights and sustainability issues across the transboundary region.

"Our Mission is to maintain and protect the diversity and abundance… in the transboundary region" |
We now function as a distinct organization, while remaining connected to and coordinated with our members, as well as other ENGOs, First Nations, and non-traditional allies. We are the only organization in the region that coordinates strategically across the BC-Alaska border
Our Mission is to maintain and protect the diversity and abundance of fish and wildlife species and their habitat in the transboundary watersheds of Canada and Southeast Alaska, and to encourage the adoption of long-term conservation-based planning to ensure the survival of these magnificent river systems.
Rivers Without Borders has staff members in Whitehorse, Juneau, Ottawa and Seattle, supported by a dedicated Steering Committee and a team of Special Advisors who, like our staff, are well informed on the issues affecting the transboundary region.
